PML Group OOH results on GAA All-Ireland Championships

Nearly half of Out of Home consumers watch All-Ireland matches in pubs, with PML Group research highlighting strong links between GAA fans and targeted outdoor advertising opportunities

The PML Group, an advertising agency in Dublin, has shown through research that 47% of Out of Home (OOH) consumers watch the All-Ireland Championship matches in a pub or bar.

The OOH targets a brand canvas ready to capture the attention of sports fans across the country.

Croke Park is expected to host 82,300 spectators at both men’s football and hurling finals respectively

The PML Group studies show:

  • 45% of OOH consumers have an interest in GAA football, hurling, or camogie
  • 41% actively watch championship matches outside of home
  • 37% will attend a match at a stadium, peaking at 45% of 35-44 year olds
  • 47% watch matches in a pub or bar, peaking at 61% of 18-24 year olds
  • 23% of those who have attended a GAA game are in the highest OOH quintile
  • 49% of those passionate about GAA are interested in digital screen messaging
  • 73% of match attendees are OOH consumers
