Kirin keeps a cool head

A beer that keeps cooler longer by having a frozen head has been developed by the Japanese brewer Kirin Holdings.

The frozen head holds for around 30 minutes to keep the drinker cool in those long hot Summers we’ve become so used to here in Ireland.

According to Kunihiko Kadota, Kirin’s Marketing Brand Manager, it takes a beer drinker an average of 22 minutes to drink a pint and so Kirin has produced machines to make the frozen froth in over 200 outlets in Japan with the aim of reaching 1,000 outlets across the country in the near future.

The development is aimed at younger consumers who like their beers cold but have been switching to cocktails and wine instead.
