Kilkenny hosts annual UKILTA meeting

Kilkenny was the venue for this year’s United Kingdom and Ireland Licensed Trade Association annual meeting.

Hosted by VFI President and Kilkenny local Pat Crotty the meeting discussed a wide range of issues including Brexit, business rates and Minimum Unit Pricing.

Representatives from Scotland and the north of England believed that Brexit would impact the trade’s access to labour while Northern Ireland’s publicans feel that any change in the common travel area would severely affect their region as the vast majority of tourists to the North enter Ireland via Dublin Airport.

As well as discussing issues of common interest to the trade, the group also visited the Smithwicks Experience in Kilkenny.
