Irish inflation hit 8% in February

Energy prices have increased by 29.2% since February 2022
The Night-time Economy needs to be ready to bounce back and to have as few obstacles as possible in its way as it develops and grows.

Energy prices are up by 29.2% year-on-year

Prices in Ireland are estimated to have risen by 8.0% in the 12 months to February 2023, and by 1.4% in the month from January 2023. In January, HICP inflation was at 7.5% in Ireland.

This is according to the EU Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Ireland, which said Eurozone inflation is at 8.6%.

While energy prices are estimated to have fallen by 0.2% in the month, they have increased by 29.2% since February 2022. Excluding energy, the HICP is estimated to have grown by 5.8% since February 2022.
