Ireland good for Britvic in H1

Ireland was the only country of GB, Ireland and France to show an improvement in trading conditions for Britvic in its H1 results, published recently.

Set against a soft drinks market here growing at just over 1%, volumes were up 1.2% at Britvic Ireland which recorded a 4.1% revenue increase year-on-year to £62.9 million (€82.1m) from £61.7 million (€80.5m at constant exchange rate) for the first half of the group’s financial year ending on 10th April.

“An 18-month programme of product innovation in the low and no sugar beverage category – to coincide with consumer trends for a broader choice of better for you products – has contributed to this positive momentum in H1,” noted the Irish division of Britvic plc.

Overall, the parent company recorded revenue up 5.1% (4.3% based on Actual Exchange Rates) to £678 million for its own H1 to April 10th from £650 million for H1 2015.

Pre-tax profits were up 6.9% to £54.5 million.
