Father Ted found in Edinburgh pub!

Following an investment of over £1 million, Malone’s, an Irish bar in Edinburgh, now boasts the world’s biggest tribute to Father Ted.

Edinburgh’s Morrisson Street pub has installed a 28-metre mural depicting the characters from the 90s classic comedy series featuring Father Ted Crilly, Father Dougal McGuire, Father Jack Hackett and of course Mrs Doyle, as well as Bishop Brennan and other notable cameos to Craggy Island from the series.

Various scenes have been reproduced by artist Chris Rutterford such as the famous department store ‘lingerie hideout’ scene.

“We’re all huge Father Ted fans at Malones and we even hold a Father Ted festival each year to raise money for charity,” commented Simon Keane, a Director of Malones Irish Bars, of the new installation.

Malones Irish Bars won the Best Entertainment Experience UK at the 2017 Irish Pubs Global Awards for a previous incarnation of the pub which has siblings in Glasgow and Aberdeen.
