Debit/Credit card spend up 19% in Restaurants/Dining sector
With a spend of €489.1 million across the country, Debit and Credit card spend on Restaurants/Dining was up 19% last September compared to September a year ago when it was €411.4 million according to the Central Bank.
Restaurants/Dining’s Debit & Credit card spend was down 20.3% or by €124.4 million from August’s €613.5 million.
However compared to the previous month, August, September’s Restaurants/Dining’s Debit & Credit card spend was down 20.3% or by €124.4 million from August’s €613.5 million.
Interestingly, the spend in September 2019 was considerably less than 2021 or 2022 at just €306.4 million.
Nearly all sectors experienced reductions in spending during September.
