Off-trade

Craft breweries still supplying off-licences

While a number of craft breweries around the country remain closed in the present Covid-19 crisis, some, like Tig Bhric in West Kerry’s Balliferriter, are busy packaging beer in bottles for ongoing sale to the off trade.

The brewery’s product has been available through Grand Cru Beers for several years now but it now also supplies direct to the Dingle Peninsula and has recently been taken up by Cliffords, a Tralee-based cash & carry.

“Our processes are very laborious with every part of the operation being hands on,” explained Founder & Brewer Adrienne Heslin, “We just package in bottle, keg and cask for hand pump and as you can imagine the latter two have ceased altogether!”
