Consumers spent more this November

Bank of Ireland debit and credit card spending in last month was higher (up 13%) than in the same month in 2021.

 

Spend in the Restaurant sector was up 3% in November compared to the same month in 2021.

When compared to last year, social spending climbed by 12% and retail spend rose by 10% in November.

The Bank’s spending data also revealed that spend in the Restaurant sector was up 3% in November compared to the same month in 2021.

However the rise in input costs leading to higher consumer prices should also be factored into these figures.
