Bar sales volumes down 91%

Bar sales volumes and values fell 91.3% in February when compared with bar sales volumes in February 2020, just before Lockdown was introduced in mid-March according to provisional seasonally-adjusted figures from the Central Statistics Office.
Compared to the previous month, January, February's bar volumes were down 12.8% while values showed a decline of 12.3%.

Final figures for January indicate a fall of 90.1% in bar sales volumes compared with January 2020 while bar sales values fell 89.9%. January’s bar sales volumes were down 73.8% compared to last December while values were down 73.7%.

Across the three-month period December to February, the provisional seasonally-adjusted figures show a fall of 79.8% in bar sales volume and of 79.4% in bar sales values compared to the same quarter in 2019/2020.

The December 2020 to February 2021 quarter showed a volume decline of 32.7% and a value decline of 31.5% when compared with the September to November period last year.
