Bar sales up 4.3% in March

Bar sales rose 4.3% in volume and 5.5% in value last March according to seasonally-adjusted provisional figures from the CSO which found bar sales up 1.3% in volume on the previous month, February and up 0.6% in value.

Final seasonally-adjusted sales figures for February indicate an annual growth of 2.8% in bar sales volume and 3.9% in value. Compared to the previous month bar sales were up 0.2% in volume but down 0.5% in value.

Across the quarter January to March 2017 seasonally adjusted bar sales figures showed growth of 3.4% in volume and 4.4% in value compared to the same quarter in 2016.

Compared to the previous quarter, October to December 2016, seasonally-adjusted bar sales volumes showed a rise of 0.7% in volume and 1.1% in value.
