Butlers, Wicklow Wolf launch chocolate stout
Ireland’s independent, family-owned, premier chocolatier, Butlers Chocolates and Brewing Company, Wicklow Wolf, have teamed up to bring chocolate and craft beer lovers the ultimate indulgent beverage: The Truffle Shuffle – a rich, velvety stout infused with the distinctive flavour of Butlers Milk Chocolate.
This limited-edition release will be available in most major grocery retailers and off-licences from Friday, 24 October
This premium chocolate stout has been expertly brewed by the team at Wicklow Wolf using the finest cocoa nibs from the Butlers Chocolate factory in North Dublin, resulting in a rich, indulgent flavour that blends two of Ireland’s favourite tastes: smooth craft stout and luxurious milk chocolate.
This limited-edition release will be available in most major grocery retailers and off-licences from Friday, 24 October.
From November, The Truffle Shuffle will be available in a special edition gift box, which will include:
- Six cans of Truffle Shuffle
- Butlers Milk Chocolate Truffles
- A 75g Butlers Milk Chocolate Truffle Bar
- A collectable keepsake Wicklow Wolf glass

“The technical challenges of bringing Butlers Milk Chocolate Truffle to life in a beer is one that we really enjoyed, especially tasting lots of chocolate truffles.
“The challenge is incorporating those rich milk chocolate flavours that you expect from a Butlers truffle.
“For Truffle Shuffle, we infused Butlers cacao nibs into the brew in order to give that depth of chocolate flavour and added lactose (milk sugar) to give the stout a creamy body and mouthfeel.
“We added a touch of vanilla to round out the flavour profile and landed on a finished beer that we believe brings Butlers Milk Chocolate Truffles to life in a stout.
“We highly recommend enjoying Truffle Shuffle with a Butlers Milk Chocolate Truffle.”
