Special delivery

Ma Nolan doesn’t take chances.

Following the delivery of reinforcements, some 470 kegs lay in wait for the expected descent of the Irish hordes on Ma Nolan’s pub in Nice during the recent Euro 2016.

“Our biggest sellers are normally Carlsberg & Stella followed by Guinness,” Thady Nolan, Managing Director at Ma Nolan’s Irish Pub in Nice, told Closing Time, “We got this delivery in on Thursday morning. Different groups of fans like different beers – The Northern Irish cleaned us out of Carlsberg, 1664 Blanc, Tiger and Stella on the first weekend, the English, Welsh, Swedes and Turks got through a lot of Magners and Guinness and we had to get another 100 kegs (60 Carlsberg & 40 1664 Blanc) on Monday and 80 Stella on Tuesday.

“The lads from the North were brilliant and there was about 10,000 of them,” he added.

Now for the cellarmen anoraks among you, the 470 kegs comprised 400 30-litre kegs and 70 20-litre kegs and Ma Nolan’s offers 12 different types of draught beer:
