After months of exceptionally strong growth, take-home alcohol sales have begun to taper off according to Kantar’s latest survey data of the grocery sector.

July's bar sales 140% up on June

Even as Covid-19 restrictions began to be lifted, not surprisingly, sales in bars witnessed a 53% decline in volume and a 52% decline in value last July compared to July 2019 according to seasonally adjusted provisional figures from the Central Statistics Office.
