Michelin Star for Wild Honey Inn

The Wild Honey Inn in Lisdoonvarna, County Clare, has been awarded a Michelin Star in the latest 2018 Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland, just published - and it’s the first RoI pub to be awarded one.

A Michelin Bib Gourmand holder since 2010, the Wild Honey Inn has risen to Michelin Star status and becomes the only newcomer to join what’s now an 11-strong list of Michelin Star restaurants in the Republic of Ireland.

Owned and run by prominent chef Aidan McGrath and his partner Kate Sweeney, it was refurbished in 2009. Its food offering places emphasis on the French classical genre, using wild local produce prepared and served in a refined bistro style.

This year’s Guide, priced at €18.99 and available at http://travel.michelin.co.uk/, lists a total of 350 establishments in the Republic of Ireland and 74 in Northern Ireland, including many that offer overnight accommodation.
