Enjoy a wine tasting onboard a luxury space balloon for €120k

French space company Zephalto hopes to launch its first flights as early as 2025

Guest will enjoy meals by French chefs and a guided wine tasting by the onboard sommelier

French space company Zephalto is taking wine tastings to the next level with its  120,000 wine tasting experience set 15 miles above Earth.

The trips will take place on Céleste – a metallic-like “spaceship” made from composite fibres to ensure its lightweight and exceptional strength – which sits beneath a vast helium balloon “the size of the Sacré Coeur in Paris” that will push the ship into the stratosphere. It hopes to launch the first flights as early as 2025.

Holding six guests, the pod will take to the air at 13 feet per second until they reach an altitude of about 15.5 miles above the Earth’s surface. Altogether the experience will last six hours.

During that time, guest will enjoy meals by French chefs and a guided wine tasting by the onboard sommelier.

Zephalto has teamed up with the French National Centre for Space Studies, which has been sending balloons into the stratosphere for six decades.

The Celeste will not leave the Earth’s atmosphere, meaning passengers will not experience weightlessness which makes the experience open to anyone without specialist training.
