€2.2m spend by Alcohol category on outdoor advertising in May

Budweiser Ice Cold emerged the top alcohol spender (at ratecard) on outdoor advertising in May with a spend of €463.098, according to figures from the PML Group.

This put the brand in fourth place in terms of overall spenders in May behind HB Ice Pop Collection (€684,883), ESB Electric Ireland (€628,600) and Vodafone’s Manifesto campaign (€494,966).
Coca Cola’s ‘125 years’ campaign came in in sixth place with a spend of €404,407 while 7UP Free’s campaign spent €346,747, putting it in eighth place.
Behind Bud Ice Cold in the alcohol section lay Bulmers Light at €261,830, Coors Light at €240,846, Jameson’s ‘Easygoing’ campaign at €231,089 and West Coast Cooler’s Citra at €200,242.
Carlsberg Lager took sixth place with a spend of €172,659, the Heineken Cup spent €95,223, Guinness Draught €84,557, Smirnoff Pre-Mix €77,095 and in 10th place was Smirnoff Flavours with a €76,471 spend.
Altogether the alcohol category spent nearly €2.2 million in May on outdoor advertising (at ratecard).
The Beers & Ciders sub-category emerged in third place overall with a spend of €1.65 million in May, behind Telecoms (€3.1 million) and Confectionery (€1.9 million).
