Eleven Dublin pubs received Raising the Bar Quality Assurance certificates recently in recognition of having been assessed and improved under Fáilte Ireland’s national standards scheme for pubs across the country.

Among those to be recognised at an event in The Dropping Well in Milltown recently were four of Charlie Chawke’s pubs including The Bank on College Green, The Dropping Well in Milltown, The Old Orchard Inn in Rathfarnham and The Goat Bar & Grill in Goatstown. Also receiving accolades were Davy Byrnes on Duke Street, Fagan’s in Drumcondra, Peter’s Pub in Johnson Place, The Baggot Inn on  Baggot Street, The Church Café Bar Restaurant on Mary Street, The Stillorgan Orchard in Stillorgan and The Yacht Pub in Clontarf.

“Fáilte Ireland’s involvement in this accreditation scheme is of huge benefit to the Dublin trade,” commented LVA Chairman Enda Keogh, one of the award-recipients and owner of Peter’s Pub.

“The Irish Pub has long been recognised as one of the most popular tourist attractions, with Irish nightlife voted in the top 10 of the world by Trip Advisor and our pubs voted the best in the world by Lonely Planet,” added Fáilte Ireland’s Tony Lenehan, Head of Industry Quality & Standards.
