WSET to host Information Evening in Dublin

Ireland’s first ‘WSET Information Evening’ is to be held in Dublin by The Wine & Spirit Education Trust on Monday 19th October at ely bar and brasserie, North Dock, Georges Dock.

The event has been designed to show what WSET’s wine and spirit qualifications have to offer to potential new students as well as to existing students looking to advance their studies.

With WSET staff and local educators on hand throughout the evening, it promises to be an ideal opportunity for drinks industry professionals, individuals looking to join the wine and spirit industry and wine and spirit enthusiasts to find out about their education options.

Doors open at 6pm and there will be a series of tastings and seminars throughout the evening led by highly experienced educators:

  • 18:30-19:00 – Beginner to advanced tasting techniques
  • 19:30-20:00 – Advancing your career with WSET
  • 20:30-21:00 – Judging quality in wine

Attendance is free, although participants will need to register in advance.

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust is the largest global provider of qualifications in the fields of wines and spirits whose qualifications are formally recognised and which has a strong reputation worldwide.

WSET has a long history in Ireland with its first courses being taught here in 1978.

In 2015 WSET was awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade for demonstrating excellence in reaching international markets.

In the last academic year (2014/15) 61,452 people sat for a WSET qualification. Courses are open both to industry professionals and interested enthusiasts.
