Tigh Nora – 1st bar to launch own gin

While there have been a number of such Irish whiskeys, the award-winning Tigh Nora Gin Bar in the heart of Galway City claims a first in becoming Ireland’s first bar to launch its own gin.

Nora’s Irish Dry Gin is now being served exclusively in the city centre bar located in Galway’s Latin Quarter and owned by John Mannion who owns a number of outlets there including The Dáil Bar, The Front Door, Sonny Molloy’s Irish Whiskey Bar, Tom Sheridan’s, Brasserie on the Corner and The Liquor Lounge.

Nora’s Gin is a Classic London Dry Gin inspired by the bar’s namesake Nora Barnacle, the beloved Galway-born wife and inspiration of James Joyce and credited as one of the most famous Irish poets. In her younger years Nora would often walk past the very building in which the bar is now located.

Floral-led Nora’s Gin is only available in Tigh Nora and its adjoining bar The Front Door pub.
