Napoléon for Christmas?
The special edition Mandarine Napoléon XO Gold comes encased in a 24-carat gold bottle (or “robe d’or”) and is selling for a price appropriate to the year the drink was first produced, €1,892.
Only 125 bottles of the liqueur, a distillate of Sicilian mandarins blended with a touch of Grande Fine Champagne Cognac from 1892, have been produced. And these are housed in a special anniversary walnut case.
It’s recommended that the drink is best served neat or on the rocks to experience its delicate subtleties and unique finish (as putting a splash of Coke might mix down the experience).
