Musgrave MarketPlace’s ‘C&C of the future’

Musgrave MarketPlace, the wholsesale suppliers to retail, foodservice and SME businesses, recently unveiled its €2.2m upgraded Ballymun store off St Margaret’s Road in Dublin.

At 75,000 square feet overall, the renovated Ballymum store has increased in size by 20% and now positions itself as the ‘cash and carry of the future’ with a range of new speciality areas and state-of-the art technologies.

Customers can now avail of free wifi, self-scan store entry and touch-screens throughout to provide access to the wider range available from the central distribution warehouse in Blanchardstown.

The store boasts a range of new and innovative features including:-

 

  • specialist meat, fish, cheese, fruit and vegetable counters with in- store experts to advise on the latest culinary trends
  • a state-of-the-art food theatre
  • a new alcohol department
  • online access to the full range which has been selected based on extensive international and local food trends research commissioned by Musgrave MarketPlace.

 

Musgraves also celebrates 140 years in business this year and in opening the new-look C&C, Musgrave Group’s Chief Executive Chris Martin pointed out that turnover at the country’s second largest employer was some €3.7 billion last year.

Noel Keeley, Managing Director of Musgrave Wholesale Partners, added that this particular site had been a Musgraves C&C depot for the past 39 years,

“The business of food and drink is constantly evolving and we believe that it’s vital that we continue to innovate and cater to our customers’ changing needs,” said Noel.

The upgrade of the Ballymun branch of Musgrave MarketPlace is part of an ongoing commitment to deliver refurbishments across all branches nationwide.

Musgrave MarketPlace Ballymun currently employs 65 staff.
