Jägermeister choses Jake

Irish bartender Jake Beaverstock was one of three bartenders selected internationally to spend three months in Berlin taking part in the Jägermeister Scholarship Programme.

Jägermeister’s scholarship for bartenders went international recently as Jake Beaverstock from Ireland, Ella Lappalainen from Finland and Christopher Blas from the US became  guests in Berlin, working in famous bars, attending specialist events, getting to know the city and its people and sharing their experiences online. The three bartenders report regularly on their work and life in the German capital with videos and posts on their social media channels and on www.hubertuscircle.com so that colleagues and others interested can take part.

As scholarship holders of the ‘Jägermeister Scholarship Berlin Edition’ the international new edition of the Jägermeister Scholarship, Jake has taken up work in the bar of the Orania Hotel in Kreuzberg which opened in 2017 while Ella Lappalainen, who works in the bar of the restaurant Mutka in Jyväskylä (Central Finland), supports the team of the Friedrichshain Booze Bar in Berlin. Her colleague Christopher Blas, working at Polite Provisions in San Diego, will work at the Amano Bar, which belongs to the Amano Hotel in Mitte.

The three scholarship holders receive support from Jägermeister in all bureaucratic matters connected with a stay abroad and do not have to take care of the tedious search for an apartment in Berlin — together they move into a modern city apartment provided as part of the scholarship.

Participation in workshops, masterclasses and events – from visiting the ancestral home of Jägermeister in Wolfenbüttel with Brand Ambassador Nils Boese to meetings of the Hubertus Circle, Jägermeister’s industry network, to Bar Convent Berlin 2018 – are also planned, combining training, networking and fun.
