With the value of Irish alcohol drinks exports at over €1 billion, a new report shows that the impact of beverage exports on the domestic economy far outweighs other products manufactured in Ireland for international markets, due to the high level of locally-sourced inputs. The combined capital value of all sales of Dublin licensed premises last year increased by 49.68 per cent from €4.75 million to €7.11 million, according to the Review of Licensed Premises 2011 just published from auctioneers Morrissey's. It’s all a long way from the peak of €180.3 million for capital value in Dublin licensed premises sales back in 2006. Overall drinks market and alcohol consumption levels in Ireland were essentially static last year due to the to the deep recession and changing consumption patterns, according to the Drinks Industry Group of Ireland which has just published a new report, Drinks Market Performance 2011 by Anthony Foley of DCU Business School.
