FSAI & HSE visit C&C

The C&C Group has confirmed that a meeting has taken place between the Group, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland and the Health Service Executive at its brewery in Clonmel, County Tipperary.

Following our recent report C&C and Heineken Ireland under investigation, the C&C Group has confirmed that a meeting has taken place between the Group, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland and the Health Service Executive at its brewery in Clonmel, County Tipperary and according to the C&C Group, it is fully-compliant with all regulations in relation to the production, provenance and marketing of Pana Cork Lager.

C&C produces Bulmers Original Irish Cider in Clonmel together with a number of standard lagers & ales, such as Pana Cork Lager, Clonmel 1650 & Roundstone.

According to a statement released by C&C following the meeting, “All C&C products clearly carry details of the product’s origin and the company is very proud of its Clonmel heritage, which spans over 80 years”.

The C&C statement continued, “C&C Group also welcomes the work of the Independent Craft Brewers of Ireland in addressing the misrepresentation of craft beers by international breweries, including the recent introduction of a new symbol to let customers know they’re supporting microbreweries.  C&C will continue to work with the ICBI’s members to distribute their local craft products to pubs around Ireland.”
