Double Gold for Mad March Hare

Mad March Hare premium Irish Poitín took Double Gold at the 16th San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

This gives Mad March Hare a glowing endorsement just weeks after launching ‘quietly’ in Ireland and the US.

Bottled in Ireland, Mad March Hare Poitin is distilled in copper pot stills from locally-sourced malted barley and pays homage to this ancient craft with an age-old recipe that delivers a complex yet incredibly smooth spirit.

Mad March Hare International is run by two young Dubliners, Andrew Mitchell and co-founding partner John Ralph, who raised initial investment in Ireland, China and the US to develop Mad March Hare, distilled and bottled entirely in Ireland.

“This is a great result for us and for the category itself,” said Andrew Mitchell, “It shows that Irish Poitín can proudly retake its rightful place among the elite of distilled spirits.”

John Ralph agreed.

“We felt there was a growing unmet demand for authentic craft Irish spirits and it doesn’t get more authentic than Irish Poitín,” commented John, “We had an incredibly positive response from investors and from the drinks industry at large.”

The pair also intend to market the product in the Far East.

Mad March Hare is being made available to bars and retail across Ireland at a RRP of €34.99/700ml.

Enjoy it over ice, with a simple mix or in a craft cocktail.
