Catex visitor registrations “well ahead”

Catex, Ireland’s largest foodservice and hospitality event, returns to Dublin’s RDS from Tuesday 26th – Thursday 28th February with over 11,000 visitors expected to attend.

The biennial event represents a prime opportunity for visitors to meet with over 200 suppliers and manufacturers, watch hundreds of chefs, baristas and drink specialists compete and network with thousands of industry colleagues.

Running for three days, Catex is set to be even bigger and better than previous shows and one which delivers exceptional value to both exhibitors and visitors alike, claims the organiser.

“Attending Catex is free, so for people from across Ireland who work in foodservice and hospitality, it’s this year’s ‘must-attend’ event,” commented IFSA Chairman John Cunningham on the importance of showing support.

Exhibitor space is now sold out, with a waiting list in place and visitor pre-show registrations well ahead of previous years. This year, more people have registered to attend Catex than ever before and thousands of additional registrations are expected over the coming weeks.

The Bartenders Association of Ireland’s Irish Cocktail Championships will see Ireland’s leading mixologists putting their skills to the test during the high-octane cocktail challenges. The biggest competition on the calendar, with interest from bars and restaurants all over Ireland, this year’s winner will get the opportunity to represent Ireland at the World Cocktail Championship later in 2019.

At this year’s event visitors will also see the launch of the Restaurant, Hotel and Contract Catering Cook Serve Competitions – the IFSA Grand Prix – giving professionals an opportunity to compete to win a once-in-a-lifetime gastronomy getaway to Lyon or Bilbao.
