Attended by over 10,000 foodservice and hospitality industry professionals, the flagship event, organised by the Irish Foodservice Suppliers Alliance, will again be staged at the RDS Simmonscourt, Dublin 4, from 21st to 23rd February.

In an increasingly competitive market new companies have joined the 200-strong bill to sit alongside the popular competitions and feature areas including the Contract Caterers’ Culinary Challenge and the Chef’s Choice Pavilion.

“CATEX has retained its place as the biggest, most comprehensive trade show for the foodservice sector – always building and evolving,” stated IFSA Chairman and Industrial and Commercial Sales Executive with Calor Gas Larry Smith.

“Sponsored by Bunzl and Calor, CATEX is on course to become a sell-out event with almost 70% of available floor space already sold and with CATEX enjoying a record attendance in 2015, we’ve high hopes for the 2017 event.”

Maureen Gahan, Foodservice Specialist with Bord Bia also pointed out, “The ‘out of home’ market is now worth €6.37bn and this is forecast to grow to almost €6.9bn by 2018.

“The Irish foodservice market is delivering real growth and value for Irish food and drink companies as is evidenced in our recent industry report so this is an area we’re encouraging companies to develop.

“CATEX has been instrumental as the melting pot for the sector for over 50 years and with foodservice on the rise, there are real opportunities for producers to adapt their offering to appeal to key players in this market”.

Once again, CATEX continues to partner with aligned industry associations including the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (Irish chapter); Euro-Toques Ireland; Restaurants Association of Ireland; the Panel of Chefs, CMAI; Irish Hospitality Institute; Bartenders Association of Ireland; Licensed Vintners Association and the Vintners Federation of Ireland.
