‘Brancott Estate Flight’ – a new lighter NZ Sauvignon Blanc

Wine lovers can now enjoy the full flavour of the original Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with Brancott Estate Flight Sauvignon Blanc, crafted to be 20% lighter in calories whilst retaining the freshness and ripe flavours synonymous with Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Brancott Estate Flight is made using grapes harvested earlier in the season when sugar levels are naturally lower, leading to a wine that’s 26% lighter in alcohol and 20% lighter in calories, but which retains an award-winning flavour.

Retaining quality and flavour was a key focus when crafting this wine. Since its first vintage, ‘Flight’ has won gold medals at international wine competitions against full-strength wines.

It’s best enjoyed slightly chilled on its own for any occasion or accompanied by seafood dishes, chicken or pork.

“Consumers have told us that they’re looking for a wine style that is lighter, that’s lighter in calories, but doesn’t compromise on the taste and flavor complexity of the wine,” says Patrick Materman, Brancott Estate’s Chief Winemaker, “There are a number of ways to reduce the calories in wine but not all of these processes are natural and many of them affect the flavour of the wine. With Brancott Estate Flight we use a natural winemaking approach to create a wine that’s 20% lighter in calories. By doing this, we retain all the distinctive Marlborough flavours that people expect from Brancott Estate.”
